For those who are looking for a reasonably good sandwich shop outside the city, check out Guy’s Cafe in Cochrane. They’ve got a behemoth of a sandwich called the “I Don’t Know I’m Not Sure Yet”, stuffed with all the cold cuts on their menu.

Hong Kong 2009 – HK Style Milk Tea

Hong Kong-style Milk Tea (top right of the picture) is one of those things you must experience in Hong Kong, alongside a good solid bowl of fish-cake noodles and egg-shaped waffles.
Milk Tea (奶茶, lai cha) is made up using black tea, evaporated milk, to which you add your own helping of sugar. It is one [...]

California Thai in Beacon Hill, Calgary

California Thai in Beacon Hill, Calgary / jon_lin
I don’t think I’ve ever been served this much food at a fast food place, ever. I definitely recommend the Pad Thai and Golden Curry with rice dishes.

Breakfast at Cora’s, Northland Mall, Calgary / jon_lin
Presentation points: the breakfast skillet at Cora’s looks just like
advertised – loaded with fruits and general deliciousness. If you are

one hour to wait), I’d recommend Cora’s over Denny’s. Just don’t
expect too much [...]

Regina, SK – Week One

So I’m typing this entry as I sit in a rather dark Regina airport on my birthday, a few minutes before boarding. I will say that being away from home on your birthday is an unfortunate side-effect of working remotely so often.
Anyways, to give you some background on Regina and my trip, there are some [...]

I touched down in Sarnia, Ontario last week Monday, and I have never seen so many chemical factories clustered in one area. For the unfamiliar, Sarnia is on the south-west side of Ontario, approximately one hour from Detroit and three hours from Toronto.

While the locals do not advise swimming in lake Huron, there is lots [...]

Cleveland Ohio – Week Three

After a year hiatus of traveling to the States, I returned again to Cleveland for some work-sponsored training. This time around, there were only three Canadians in total at the training, so our presence was especially lacking.

The definite highlight of the trip was on Wednesday – our group got picked up in this fancy 2007 [...]
